Bay View Harbor is a peaceful town on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. It's steeped in local history and attracts tourists, but doesn't have the throngs of visitors that the Atlantic coast beaches have. You get a breeze from the Bay without the storm surges and rip tides. You also get people who want to enrich themselves by quietly developing the last large tract of land -- and they'll kill to keep that secret. Enter Gypsy Lee Miller, returning to the town she grew up in to help figure out her life focus so she can forge ahead. So part of that is opening  bakery? Turns out, yes. But dangerous situations seem to swirl around her. She needs to figure out why a handyman died on her bakery floor, if the local art critic died because he wanted to take credit (and money) for others' work, and whether a local contest judge may have  died by picking the wrong winner. And Gypsy Lee's just getting started.

The Handyman's Last Bite

Gypsy Lee left a career in DC to return to Bay View Harbor on the Chesapeake Bay to recalibrate her life. Opening a bakery with her cousin is a good change of pace--until the local handyman drops dead after eating a cupcake. Her questions annoy powerful people. Being known as the Killer Cupcake Woman is bad for business, but looking for the culprit isn't healthy either.

The Art Critic's Last Forgery

Local art critic (a.k.a. blogger) Marcus arranges to have artists' paintings in local businesses. If they sell, it's a win for the artist and Marcus gets a cut. Gypsy Lee is tired of his badgering to have more pictures in the bakery, and wonders if Marcus is up to more than critiquing.  When he turns up missing--with a ransom note under the bakery's table at the spring festival-- accusations fly; some aimed at the Bay View Harbor Bakery. Is a bad review worth killing for?

The Judge's Last Contest

Halloween parades should be fun to judge. But it's better to live through the event.
